Case Criteria

The list below will assist the dentist, staff, technician and patient meet or excced expectations.  In order to achieve predictable results, we have found that success is not achieved just by the skills of those involved but must include proper treatment planning and the provision of sufficient communication tools.  The combination of all three ingredients has proven that high quality restorations are less expensive!  Proper treatment planning, mouth prep and accurate impressions combined with our skills will consistently save you time, money and frustration.  Consistent adherence to the following steps will produce predictable results, reduced seating times and ultimately happier patients!

We suggest the following guidelines:

Planning:  We encourage team management and treatment planning with all specialties.

As your Lab Specialist, we assist in planning by:

  1. Consultation - especially helpful with choice of restorative materials
  2. Photography - digital images for ease of transmission to and from the lab or doctor's office
  3. Email - Refer to our contact list for specific addresses
  4. Sequence of Procedures - simplifies complex cases identifying critical steps of the treatment plan

Tools of Communication Checklist:

  1. Diagnostic wax up - (full or additive/subtractive technique)
  2. Facebow-mounted study cast of accepted provisional restorations
  3. Pictures - series of full face, quadrant and occlusal as shown in our "Photography and Shading Selection" page.  Also include a picture with shade tab in the same plane as matched tooth.
  4. Proper two/three plane preparation with defined margin
  5. Accurate full arch impression or cast (bubble free and defined margins)
  6. Accurate and stable centric relation/maximum intercusption bite records (shipped in a denture box to protect from distortion)
  7. Clearly written or typed detailed instructions
  8. Sufficient schedule time to successfully meet expectations
